Kids Matters OT has the sole purpose of Empowering Families and Transforming Lives. In this, we aim to provide the most effective Occupational Therapy treatment in partnership with the children, their families and their communities. We were established in 2005 and have been on a continual journey of improvement since then.
We are always open to employing experienced part-time or full-time OTs to work at our clinics. We currently have a vacancy at our Yeerongpilly clinic.
We need therapists who “gets” kids and families and know how to treat them using a combination of developmental and top-down approaches so as to make a meaningful and functional change, not only for the kids, but for their parents and siblings too.
Approaches we use are based in a combination of sensory processing theory and practice/ sensory integration, DIR/ Floortime, NDT, Sensory Attachment Intervention, Executive Function training, COOP and skills training.

Clinical Occupational therapist – Yeerongpilly
The working hours are flexible. A half-day on Saturday is preferred (but not essential) for a full-time position. The position can be filled by one or two therapists according to availability and skill-set. There is an opportunity for this job to become permanent for the right candidate.
On the job training & development including regular professional supervision is provided to make it easy to succeed in this role.

We are excited to launch our new graduate position in 2018. This will be structured like an internship where the successful applicant works alongside more experienced therapists to gradually build a caseload of their own.

What we are offering…
We have an exciting new opportunity for two new graduates to join our dynamic and passionate team at Yeerongpilly and Greenslopes clinics. We are offering extensive training and mentoring on the job with joint clients, weekly training sessions, observation opportunities, full supervision and support from senior therapists with a range of different skill-sets. We also have well-equipped sensory gyms in all clinics, and a range of treatment spaces and resources.We work with a range of different client groups from babies to adults. The kids we see need support in a range of areas including sensory processing, regulation, anxiety, autism, ADD, ADHD, learning, motor coordination, postural control, self-care, handwriting, toileting, feeding and more. You will be given administration time to do reports, progress notes and planning. We have a fabulous administration team who support us.
The position will start part-time in February 2018 for initial training and will then become full-time in March 2018.

Training seminar opportunity for you…
Have you heard about sensory processing? This is the process where information from the senses is combined and organised for use. Efficient processing is needed for calmness, alertness, emotion and energy regulation, motor skills and coordination. It is the foundation for much of what we do. Want to hear more?
We are also offering an opportunity to visit our practice and learn from our Principal OT about sensory processing and other approaches used at Kids Matters. Vivienne is running this seminar exclusively for New graduates on Tuesday 28th November, 1:30-5:00 pm.
