INTRODUCING THE NEW KIDS MATTERS' WORKSHOP SERIES!

That's why we are excited to announce the launch of our new and ongoing Seminar Series — designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools to overcome commonly encountered childhood problems.
Whether you're a parent, carer, medical practitioner, allied health service provider or teacher, our qualified and experienced therapists will work with you or your clients in a nurturing, relaxed and interactive workshop environment; sharing information, relaying techniques, and providing individual assessment in a supportive manner that will ensure you or your clients walk away feeling confident in applying what was learnt.

SLEEP-WISE
This 3 x 2 hour workshop series will help your child achieve sound sleeping skills. Learn the fundamentals of sleep, receive an assessment, and take away strategies through an individualised plan.
Time: 10am – 12noon
Dates: Tuesdays, March 6th and 20th, and April 17th
Venue: Kids Matters OT – Yeerongpilly
Cost: $270 for the series ($100 per single workshop session)
Presenter: Julia Eggles – Occupational Therapist
Introductory offer: $250 for the series (or $85 per single session)
TOILET TIME
This 3 x 2 hour comprehensive workshop series will cover an introduction to toilet training, preparation, toilet training methods, monitoring progress and managing early difficulties. Suitable for parents with 3 to 5 year olds, and specifically designed to assist families with children who have developmental delays and disabilities.
Time: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Dates: Wednesdays, March 7th and 20th, and April 4th
Venue: Kids Matters OT – Yeerongpilly
Cost: $270 for the series ($100 per single workshop session
Presenter: Katy Berezovsky – Occupational Therapist

SOCIAL STRATEGIES
A 3-hour workshop designed to help children who are struggling socially, with friendships or with behaviour. Parents are taught visual strategies and social stories to help children develop social understanding and conversational skills.
Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Dates: Monday 12th March 2012
Venue: Kids Matters OT – Yeerongpilly
Cost: $270
Presenter: Robyn Skerrett – Speech Pathologist
Introductory offer: $250
VISUAL STRATEGIES
A 3-hour workshop designed to help children with Autism and other developmental disabilities to communicate using a range of visual strategies, including PECS, photos, pictures, symbols and iPads. Learn how to help children increase intentional communication, support choice making, transition between activities and use schedules.
Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
