“I didn’t know what to do. By the age of two, my daughter was unable to function in everyday life. Every bath time was filled with terror, an outing outside was frightening because of flies and brushing her hair and teeth was excruciating.  I have only mentioned a few issues.  Her fear inhibited her from exploring her environment like most two year olds.  After many unsuccessful visits to the Doctors, a friend mentioned having her assessed by and Occupational Therapist (OT). 

The first day I met with my OT Angela, I left crying.  Not because I was sad, but I because I finally had some answers.  Someone took the time to listen and understood very clearly, the issues my daughter and I were facing.  That day was the start of my daughter’s journey to normalcy.  Angela not only worked with my daughter in a fun way, but she educated me to establish between behavioural and sensory issues.  This gave me confidence to implement the activities planned by Angela at home.  In turn, this helped my daughter overcome many of her fears.

My daughter is now 3 ½ years and looks forward to visiting Angela and I love watching her progress.  Right now, I see her spinning like a princess with ease and grace.  It gives me much joy to see her personality emerging, out of the world of fear.”
